In addition to the obvious day of Christmas, we get to celebrate all these fun days this week:
December 25 is National Pumpkin Pie Day. Hey, I’m all in. But can we change it to pumpkin cheesecake? There is nothing in the world better than pumpkin cheesecake, and I can say this with the authority of someone who has tried many a sweet treat.
December 26 is National Whiners Day. Do we really need to celebrate them more? How about making it National Bonk a Whiner on the Head Day instead? Also, I nominate this day to be National Relief Day, because I’m sure most of us are just happy to be past the chaos of Christmas, no matter how enjoyable it is.
December 27 is National Fruitcake Day. Oh, goodie. I just love to celebrate the tooth-chipping properties of fruitcake.
December 28 is Card Playing Day and National Chocolate Day. These two could combine for a fun fondue party!
December 29 is Pepper Pot Day. There is a legend that General George Washington rallied his troops by instructing the cook to make the soup we now know as pepper pot soup, and this is the day we celebrate the victory.
December 30 is National Bicarbonate Of Soda Day. I think everyone should celebrate the wonderful uses of baking soda. Around our house, it is one of only two cleaners we use to clean everything. You have to love a cleaner you can cook with!
December 31 is Unlucky Day. Hmm, I wonder if that has anything to do with the enormous amounts of alcohol consumed on this day.
